Amy is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of The Monitor Group. She dedicates her time to serving the needs of advisors and clients. She has the ability to see the impact of small details in the big picture, and is known for taking complex, financial concepts and making them simple and meaningful.
She has been in the financial industry for 25 years, starting her career at Morgan Stanley. Amy and Chris worked together at Morgan Stanley and saw the value in a team-based approach to wealth management. The team was recruited to Citigroup to work with the local diverse community of clients and then to an independent firm focused on financial planning. Amy helped launch The Monitor Group in 2005 so the needs of their clients could be met through lifelong, comprehensive, professional guidance.
Amy attended Washington & Lee University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in French. She holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 52, 53 registrations with LPL Financial. She also holds a Series 66 with LPL Financial and Maryland Financial Group, Inc. She has held leadership roles in the community – most recently serving as Chairman of the Board for the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. Chris and Amy take the team approach off the field as well, finding time to enjoy family life with their two children. When not running after the little ones, you may find her with a camera snapping photos or in the kitchen baking. Although living in the Metro D.C. area for many years, a New Jersey native, she still pronounces water “wudder” and ball “bawl”.
